Savannah cats are a fascinating new breed of designer domestic felines.  Bred to retain the spotted beauty of their wild ancestor, the African Serval, they are amazingly intelligent and endlessly entertaining.  Playful, active and curious, they will bond closely with their human families and want to be a part of whatever is going on. Some have described their personalities as "dog-like" because they are generally very intelligent, affectionate and attached to their people, easily learn to fetch toys, and can be trained to walk on a leash. I would describe them more as cats with "purrsonality plus." These are not stuffed toy mini-servals for your sofa - they enjoy a hearty game of "leap and chase the feather teaser," "cat-soccer" with a ball or toy, and like to climb as high as they can, or race as fast as they can down the hallway.  Although they are not always lap cats, after playtime is done, they will very likely snuggle next to you for a good nap.

Meadow Creek Savannahs is a small home cattery focusing on later generation Savannahs, that is, Savannahs that have been bred for several generations away from their Serval ancestors.  Breed development is very important to us. Our goal is to produce healthy, beautiful pet, breeder and show kittens that have the exotic Savannah look, but display domestic temperaments and have domestic living requirements, and that will move the Savannah breed forward toward achieving Championship status in TICA (The International Cat Association).
